Illuminating Possibilities: Advances in multi-omic technology
Novogene are proud to launch the first of our post-work presentations! These pint-sized seminars will give you an opportunity to learn the latest Next Generation Sequencing stories straight from the source. We kick off our series with a presentation by NGS and life science instrument developers and manufacturers Illumina.

The free in-person event in the BioInnovation Centre at the Cambridge Science Park will consist of some welcome refreshments, a presentation from two of Illumina's technical specialists, followed by some time for discussion. If you have an interest in NGS technology advances for multi-omics research, don't miss this opportunity to gain insight into applications, case studies, and integrative approach strategies.

Our speakers will cover the following topics:

Comparing Bulk and Single-Cell Approaches: Understand the fundamental differences between traditional bulk analysis and single-cell techniques and discover why single-cell multi-omics is revolutionizing our understanding of cellular heterogeneity and biology.
Integrative Multi-Omics Approaches: Learn how combining genomics, transcriptomics, epigenetics, methylation, and proteomics data can provide a comprehensive understanding of cellular behaviour, enabling researchers to uncover novel biological insights and disease mechanisms.
Applications and Case Studies: Hear from our expert team about researchers who have leveraged multi-omics, methylation, and proteomics to address complex biological questions, and gain inspiration for your own investigations.
Technological Advances: Stay up to date with the latest innovations in sequencing platforms, data analysis tools, and experimental techniques, all of which contribute to the rapid evolution of multi-omics.

Speakers

Dr Pablo Carrillo, Field Applications Scientist, Illumina

Pablo has a strong foundation in molecular biology, having completed his PhD in the field in Madrid before joining Illumina. Over the course of six years at Illumina, he has held various roles, including a three-year tenure as a Technical Support Specialist, followed by two years in Project Management, and he currently serves as the local Field Applications Scientist in Cambridge. Originally hailing from Tenerife, Spain, his global perspective enriches his approach to scientific innovation.

Dr Salah Azzi, Technical Sales Specialist Illumina

Salah's academic journey began with his PhD studies at the University Pierre & Marie Curie and followed by his Postdoctoral research at the Babraham Institute in Cambridge. His research expertise revolved around delving into the intricacies of epigenetic abnormalities associated with Human Growth Disorder Syndromes. Salah embarked on his journey at Illumina as a Technical Application Scientist, dedicating four years to this role. Then, in January 2022, he made a seamless transition into the Sales department, taking on the position of Technical Sales Specialist. In his current role, Salah holds a deep appreciation for the opportunity to actively contribute to his customers' success.
