Meet Wilson Cheng
Staff Scientist, Field Application Bioinformatics Support, PacBio
Presentation title: From Reads to Insights: Empowering Research with PacBio HiFi


Wilson is a Staff Bioinformatics Scientist on the PacBio Asia Pacific team and has been working with PacBio long-read sequencing data since 2012. He specializes in human whole-genome analysis and clinical applications of HiFi sequencing. Prior to joining PacBio, he contributed to the development of WGS analysis workflows for a large-scale human biobank project.

Wilson earned his degree in Bioinformatics from the Institute of Biomedical Informatics at National Yang Ming University. He later joined the Drug Design Project team at UCSF in California, where he was responsible for NGS data analysis supporting early-stage therapeutic development.

Presentation Title: Exploring High-Quality De Novo Assembly with PacBio HiFi Reads


Ms. Rui Liu is the Senior Project Manager at Novogene AMEA. She obtained an MSc degree in Biotechnology from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Since joining Novogene in 2020 as a Technical Support Specialist, she has provided professional services to researchers across various fields, including microbiology, disease development, and breeding programs. Her responsibilities involve assisting researchers in finding appropriate NGS solutions for their research projects and offering consultation on bioinformatics analysis. Ms. Liu transitioned into the role of a Product Manager from 2023, where she focuses on studying the market trends and applications of long-read sequencing technologies.
