Tissue preservation solution

Step 1:

Tissue preservation solution will be provided to you for the storage of your sample.

Step 2:

Thaw the tissue preservation solution and keep it on ice. Ensure the solution is completely thawed with no residual ice.

Step 3:

Ensure the tissue is free of microbial contamination and there is no necrotic tissue or residual blood. Wash the tissue with pre-chilled PBS if needed.

Step 4:

Cut the tissue into small pieces approximately 0.5cm in diameter (about 100mg) or less and immerse one piece in the tube containing the tissue preservation solution. Storage of larger tissue pieces may lead to lower cell viability.

Step 5:

Always keep the tube containing the preservation buffer and tissue on ice or 4 °C prior to transportation and processing – Do not freeze the tissue!

Step 6:

As tissues need to be processed within 48 hours, please arrange for sample collection on the day of tissue harvest and send the samples between Monday and Thursday.
